Random

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

The kind of random (and not so random) kindness that is possible in this world sometimes still weighs heavily on me. While it may not necessarily be enough to restore my faith in the world as a whole, it is heartening to see that it still happens. I know deep down I should be grateful for what I have, but a part of me still yearns for something else; something more.

I continue to be saddened regarding the ongoing resistance within myself. I can only hope it is not too late before there is a resolution.

Long Week Ahead

Sunday, March 19th, 2006

Caught a cold or something last week. Probably not a good omen. Will have to remember to not get greedy at Vegas this upcoming weekend.

Mix Mash

Saturday, March 11th, 2006

I’m finally able to CS again, and I’m glad to know I can still jump right into it without too much trouble.

Unfortunately, there was a death in the family. However, for certain reasons, I cannot attend the funeral.

It’s nice to see that Oblivion finally went gold. While I won’t be able to play it until probably April, I believe it will be a game that was well worth the wait.

Vegas trip soon. I’m kind of ambivalent about it though. I’m not really a Vegas person.

Lack of Innovation

Tuesday, February 14th, 2006

I’m sure I’m not the only one noticing the general lack of creativity in game development these days. Most games these days suffer from sequelitis. I look through the stores and, sadly, I already own most of the PC RPG’s out there. For a long time there hasn’t been much that could really catch my eye. Instead, I continually fund these mediocre games out of sheer boredom.

I’ll probably end up picking up Fable today. Not that I am saying it is a bad game or anything, but I already know it will have its limitations. For sure it was not worth the original retail tag of $50, but now that it has dropped in price it is at least a more reasonable pickup. I truely cannot wait until Oblivion comes out, but that is still some time away. I have long considered picking up a PS2 just to be able to play other RPG’s, but I guess the real question is whether I can hold out for the PS3 and try to kill two birds with one stone. It’s a pity there hasn’t been many RPG’s for the Gamecube, but at least Tales of Symphonia was pretty fun.

Woot!

Cowher deserves it. The Bus stops where it should — with a ring and at home.

Superbowl prediction

Steelers will win. That is all.

Year of the Dog

Wednesday, February 1st, 2006

Talk about scary. Not that I’m the superstitious type, but this should definitely give anyone who knows me well some pause:

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people’s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.”

That was pulled directly from this page.

On a side note, apparently StarForce CAN cause problems. That would explain some of the strangeness experienced on my system ever since I installed Sudeki (and then Later X3 Reunion). I’ll have to go back and see if Morrowind will still ‘randomly’ crash now that I’ve removed the hidden StarForce drivers from my system.

Bored of CS

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

After getting a combined record of 222 kills and 106 deaths, over a period of five hours, in CS:S, I think I can say that I am getting really bored of playing. At this point, I don’t even know what to do anymore.

Brilliant!

Wednesday, January 18th, 2006

Wow. Just wow. I cap off a perfectly horrid day by practically choking to death. If nothing else, I got a taste of what it must feel like to drown. I think at this point, anything else that happens the rest of the day can’t make things that much worse. Sheesh.

Site Update

Friday, January 13th, 2006

In a nutshell, I’ve moved from WordPress 1.5 to WordPress 2.0. Tweaks need to be made and all of that good stuff, but I’ve largely decided to start over from scratch.
